Saline Environmental Commission
Welcome to SalineBeGreen!
Saline, A Green City
Saline City Council established becoming a Green City as part of the 2010-2011 goals and objectives. The city council based this decision on a review of the previous year's activities with an eye toward a successful and financially stable future. Building and enhancing a green city is an important goal. Energy efficiency and awareness of environmental issues provide for a healthier and more productive city. As community leaders we have a responsibility to make decisions that impact our environment in a sustainable manner, to provide for the needs of future generations. Saline has established the following goals and objectives to be a green city:
Ensure that Saline is a model for environmental efforts
Empower the Environmental Commission and encourage citizens to follow a variety of green and conservation initiatives
Saline Michigan is in Washtenaw County, in the lower peninsula of Michigan. The City is directly south of Ann Arbor on the historic Heritage Trail, U.S. 12.
